Loralee Pendergast (Lori)

I am a certified childbirth educator with Birth Works International. I have birth doula training through DONA (Doulas of North America) and am in the process of getting my birth doula certification through Childbirth International. I am also certified in infant, child, and adult CPR/AED and first aid through the Red Cross. I am a member of DONA, BirthMattersVA, and International Cesarean Awonline birth communities.areness Network (ICAN) and several online birth communities.

I have given birth to four children and also have over six years of personal breastfeeding experience.

After having such an empowering birth experience with the birth of my first child in 1998, I became interested in helping other pregnant women experience the same. I feel that women already know how to give birth, so I help women discover their own abilities and support them in whatever birth choices they make.

It is an honor for me to be able to offer my guidance to pregnant women and couples and to be a part of this miracle of life!

I am a DONA (Doulas of North America) certified birth doula.  I am also certified in infant, child and Adult CPR/AED.  I am a member of DONA, BirthmattersVA, ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network and other birth related groups. 

 I am the mother of 2 children with several years of personal breastfeeding experience.  In the community I am involved in the PTA and a church board member. 

After having a rough first birth I decided to get the assistance of a duola for my second birth. My birth experience with the doula was very empowering and positive.  I decided that I wanted to help others in the same way. 

For the last 3 years, I have  enjoyed assisting other families so they could have positive birth experiences, whatever that may be for them.
